How do I work with revisions?

Suppose you are writing a text. You have already written a fair amount but there are 10 sentences that you don’t think are very relevant. Yet you post your message online. Later, you want to delete this less relevant text. So you edit your text, delete these sentences and update your post. A few days later, you realize that this deleted text was actually important after all. No worries! Through the function revisions, you can simply retrieve this text.

WordPress makes revisions every time you save your post, but also does so automatically in between. This is called the autosave function. This feature makes a revision of your text every minute.

How to proceed. (revisions to a blog post)

  1. Log in to your website
  2. Go to Blog posts
You can find this on the left side of the page.
  3. Choose the blog you want a revision of
  4. Click on browse
To the right of your blog post, you will see the number of revisions under the ‘Publish’ column. In the example below, there are 2.
  5. Choose which revision you want
You can choose which revision you want on the bar, which is above your text in the middle. You have to drag from left to right to see what revisions have been made.
  6. Click update to save your changes
